Kajal Srivastava: I have always enjoyed working with my hands, and crochet was something I had learned casually over the years. When I saw that Sanjeev Handicrafts Crochet Company was offering free training, I decided to join. I wanted to enhance my skills and make something meaningful out of it. Over time, I not only learned new techniques but also started helping other women learn.
2. What kind of crochet work do you specialize in?
Kajal Srivastava: I create home decor items like cushion covers, coasters, and hanging ornaments. The ability to create beautiful things from just a thread and hook fascinates me.

Kajal Srivastava: It has given me a purpose beyond my household responsibilities. Instead of spending my free time idly, I now invest it in something productive. It has also built my confidence—I enjoy working with other women who want to learn.
4. What are some of the challenges in this business?
Kajal Srivastava: Maintaining consistency in products is a challenge because each artisan has a different style. We try to follow strict design guidelines to keep the products uniform. Another challenge is managing time between household chores and work. But once you develop a routine, it becomes easier.
5. What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Kajal Srivastava: The appreciation from customers is the best part. When someone praises a product I made with my own hands, it feels incredibly rewarding. Also, seeing other women gain confidence and financial independence through crochet makes me happy.
