India is home to 1/6th of the world's people and it has the densest population. This brings into question the penalty for unsustainable lifestyle, and the shrinking resources. While concerns loom everywhere from land shortage, degrading biodiversity, or, if combined them all the deterioration of the quality of life.
India is a country full of contradictions and surprises! Despite India being the third largest economy in the World, India also has the largest number of people living below the international poverty line, so this makes sustainability a paramount challenge!
But in spite of these challenges India has shown leadership in combating climate change and meeting the sustainable development goals. India has also emerged as a key player in the Paris agreement.
Sustainability has always been a core value of our Indian culture and its philosophy, and values have carved a sustainable way of life. Now it's our turn to lend shoulders in preserving this. Isn't it?
