Cultural Relevance
Indigenous cultures worldwide have long standing practices that prioritize sustainability. India's rich cultural assortment is embedded with sustainable practices that span over centuries.
Whether it is the concept of Ahimsa in Hinduism to reduce environmental impact of food production, the use of handloom women fabric such as cotton and khadi or even that “Tupperware ka dabba” which we Indians buy affectionately and preserve that affection over years.
The animal cow is considered Holi in India and is often referred to as “GauMata” as it provides them with dairy, medicine and even the cow dung is converted into fuel offering a sustainable alternative for cooking and heating. Indian culture is filled with customs which shows the harmonious relationship Indians have with mother nature.
