Haati Recommends
Today for #HaatiRecommends, here’s the case we’d like to make for bamboo. Ecologically, it is a ‘super plant’. It grows incredibly quickly, requires minimal water and no pesticides. Not only that, it absorbs greenhouse gases, and is extremely durable as a growing plant.
Bamboo is versatile - you can make furniture, home decor, storage units, even textile out of the plant itself. This means bamboo cultivation is highly employable. The working conditions are safe, and encourages local community participation across the world. As it doesn’t require a particular kind of soil to grow in, you can grow bamboo anywhere.
It’s also possible to innovate endlessly with bamboo, thus making it a craftsman’s delight. Tiny items like jewellery, and complex structures like sofas can be made from the same plant! Fundamentally, it is a much better alternative to plastic - especially for the kind of products we depend on plastic for. Toothbrushes, boxes, baskets, suitcases, bags and the like, these can all be replaced by bamboo. Have you made the switch yet?
